Teen Counseling

Your teen is not alone in their challenges and neither are you. Studies show that 1 in 5 teens suffer from at least one mental health disorder. Does My Teen Need Counseling?

It is normal to question if what’s happening is “normal” teen behavior or something more serious. If your teen is exhibiting signs of depression or anxiety, a dramatic change in behavior or social group, a drop in grades, isolating from others, asking for help, or if your instincts are telling you something is wrong, your teen likely needs help.

Do not brush off your concerns or warning signs. If your teen is struggling in any way, please reach out for a free phone consultation. We will discuss your concerns, your teen’s specific needs, and answer any questions you have.

Teen Privacy and Disclosure

In order to create a safe and trusting space where your teen feels comfortable opening up, things discussed in session will remain private and confidential. Confidentiality and trust are important components of the therapist/teen relationship and effective therapy.

The law mandates therapists to break confidentiality in the following situations:

  • client reports or shows signs of suicidal ideations

  • client reports or shows signs of harm or violence towards others or property

  • client reports or shows signs of current, past, or future neglect or physical/sexual abuse.

The teen will be informed of this disclosure mandate and what will be shared with parents during the first therapy session.

Online Therapy available

We meet with clients in the office and online. Online therapy is an ideal and convenient way for your teen to meet with a therapist. It is proven to be just as effective as meeting in person. Our video platform is user-friendly and secure and similar to talking to someone on FaceTime or Zoom. All your teen would need is internet connection and a private place to talk.

Sessions are 45-50 minutes in length and held once a week, unless there is a need for additional or reduced sessions. We offer day, evening, and weekend appointments to accommodate all schedules.
